Pentax Medical launches HD Stroboscopy system in Europe, Middle East and Africa
Hoya Group’s division Pentax Medical has introduced HD Stroboscopy system for ENT applications in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
HD Strobe system will help to optimize voice assessment, affording six times the image detail of standard-definition video to aid in the detection of subtle pathology.
The new system enables to improve visualization of anatomical structures such as tongue, base of tongue, uvula, epiglottis, vocal folds, false cords, arytenoids, velleculae and pyriform sinus.
Physiologically, the system allows to capture clear HD images of vibration, symmetry, periodicity, amplitude, mucosal wave and closure.
HD Stroboscopy system includes strobe light source and HD recording module, which helps to deliver enhanced HD 1080i video images.
The system includes advanced recording facilities, comprising of easy report generation, still image capture and DVD burning.
The pitch tracking, throat mic or EGG input for Fo detection features allow the system to quickly lock to the voice’s fundamental frequency.
HD Stroboscopy system, which is scalable, can be optimized when used in combination with the premium Defina system.
It will enhance the clarity of pathology edges and vascularity when used along with Defina i-scan imaging technology.
According to the company, the product is currently not available in Russia.
London’s Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital professor Birchall, Royal said: “The advanced technology has made us look again at the speed, convenience and reduced cost, and also the ability to carry out advanced procedures that weren’t previously possible, within an out-patient setting.
“It is inevitable that incremental changes in technology will make procedures even easier to perform in the future and the outpatient procedure clinic will become the mainstay of Laryngology practice in the UK and internationally.”
